Here’s a snippet of a chat about chef Anthony Grant asking for money to get to a job in Cork.
This screenshot is of a chat with Karen Harris (formerly Karen Doran, of Tralee), aka Karen Ní Earraí, where we were comparing notes after he had supposedly robbed her. I did actually get one of the dates wrong on this: the times he scammed money out of me were:
- 19 March: $591.12 NZ (300 pounds)
- 26 March: $195.11 NZ (100 pounds)
- 20 May: $300 NZ (this was the one I got wrong).
Aside from that, everything else is correct. So at this point, Anthony says he was living in Crossgar, Downpatrick, Northern Ireland. With his parents.
He was claiming his parents were driving him nuts and he was sick of dealing with the family dramas involving his father being abusive to his mother, and also said some other pretty awful things about his brother and niece. Given his track record for lying, I am of the opinion this was more of the same and he was simply trying to elicit sympathy.
Chef on the move to Cork?
So Anthony J Grant, aka Antiono Grant Jr, asked me for money so he could go start a chef job in Cork, but that never actually happened. Instead he went to Killarney, to be with Karen. And we now know that his chef jobs all fell over because he either turned up drunk, or just didn’t turn up at all.

Over the months he was scamming me, I now know he was living with Karen Harris and barely working as a chef.
Anthony moved in to her home little less than a week after they first met She took pity on him on his birthday, drove to pick him up and take him to her home and he never moved out.
He told her he was in love with her the day after they first slept together.
Although if you ask him, he will tell you it was the other way around, because Anthony’s fragile ego has to be in control.
