We are in a holding pattern again. As some of you know, G had emergency surgery late last night/early hours of this morning.
It was another big surgery (nearly seven hours). At this point she is still in ICU and on a ventilator.
The surgeon has warned us that there is quite a high probability of her requiring further surgery if the bleeding begins again. So they are keeping a very close eye on things.
Hoping that’s it for emergency surgery
Fingers crossed: no more emergency surgery!
We are only allowed in to visit two at a time, so are taking turns. Even with this all happening so suddenly, and away from home, I counted 27 of us all sitting in the waiting room. All of us awaiting our turn to visit and tell her we care.
Of course, she is still sedated so no one really knows if she can hear us, but just in case …
If all goes well, she should be off the vent and ready to wake up tomorrow. She lost a lot of blood during the surgery. So for now the surgeon is saying that he wants to keep her sedated to give her body some time to rest and recover.
We will keep you posted on her progress.
